These days I mainly use the Magic Mouse as my travel mouse, given its minimalistic, ultraportable design. The Magic Mouse can do this as well and works much more seamlessly with Apple products than the MXM3 seems to, but it doesn't feel anywhere near as ergonomic. I do a lot of video/photo editing & manipulation, so having that horizontal scroll wheel is a blessing. I still really like the mouse as it feels the most ergonomic for my hand personally, but I could definitely see how it wouldn't be right for some people. Hopefully, this post helped some of you avoid the frustration I experienced. something that's a pain in the butt and I'd rather avoid. Only solution I found is to ditch the mouse and buy another one.

So yeah, just thought I'd drop this post as I found a lot of Mac users experiencing the same issues as me with the MX Master 3, but I couldn't find any solutions mentioning using the dongle. It maybe jumps around once ever day or two now, which I still think is relatively unacceptable for a $100 mouse, but hey that's life for ya. Button and gesture controls now work perfectly, the mouse feels much more precise, and the cursor itself jumps around the screen far less than it did when connected directly via Bluetooth.

I disconnected it from my Mac's Bluetooth, deleted it from my list of known Bluetooth devices, and tried it again using the "Unifying Receiver." Well, it seems this has fixed almost all of my problems. So then I wondered if connecting the mouse via USB dongle would help at all.
This appeared to be an issue with the Mac-specific MXM3 as well according to my research. My mouse also jumped around the screen quite a bit for a $100 mouse, so all in all I was pretty unhappy having spent the money for what appeared to be sub-par quality. While this allowed the mouse to "work" per se, I had a lot of issues when trying to set up the flagship MXM features such as customizable button controls and gestures. So when I first set up my mouse I did it via Bluetooth connecting it directly to my M1 Macbook Pro, without using the "Unifying Receiver" USB dongle. However, from my research it seems there isn't much of a difference between the standard MXM3 and the one for Mac, besides the blacker color. I got the standard version, not the Mac version as I didn't know there was a Mac version prior to purchasing. Hey guys, so I just recently picked up a new MX Master 3 for $100.
